Philip Hollingsworth is the IAH Program Administrator and also serves as Program Director for the Associate Professor Program. Before joining the IAH, Philip taught Spanish for ten years, instructing at the middle school, high school and undergraduate levels. He also spent four years as the manager of the Language Resource Center, which serves UNC’s Department of Romance Studies. Philip holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Hispanic Literature from UNC-Chapel Hill and a B.A. in Spanish from Elon University.
Kathryn holds a B.A. in Studio Art in 1977 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

James Moeser is Chancellor Emeritus and served as interim director for the Institute for the Arts in Humanities from 2016-2017, and has an office located in Hyde Hall.

John Townsend served as a senior advisor with Tiger Management Corp until his retirement in November of 2015.
Ruel Tyson founded the Institute for the Arts and Humanities and guided its development as director for 20 years. He remained dedicated to scholarship and service until his passing in 2019.
Lynne Vernon-Feagans is the William C. Friday Distinguished Professor Emerita at UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Education. She has focused her research on young children and families from diverse low wealth rural communities.
