Faculty Programs
The Institute hosts programs for faculty at every stage of their careers. Complementing the Faculty Fellowship Program and Academic Leadership Program, our programs seek to connect faculty with each other and the resources they need to excel during their time at Carolina.
We do this from the moment new professors arrive for the first semester, through the tenure process, leadership opportunities, service, and retirement. IAH faculty programs support Carolina scholars and artists because we believe that our faculty are crucial to the UNC-Chapel Hill goal of service.
Our programs include:
Associate Professor Program: Supports newly tenured College faculty in the first years following their promotion to associate professor.
Chairs Leadership Program: Developed for first-time and reappointed department chairs in the College, the program provides a confidential space to discuss important issues and identify potential solutions through a peer-coaching model.
New Faculty Program: Facilitates interdisciplinary conversations and mentoring networks for full-time faculty who hold the rank of assistant professor or teaching assistant professor and who are within their first five years of appointment in the College.
Retired Faculty Program: Supports a cohort of recently retired faculty through a thoughtful and educational seminar.
