Former ALP Director Kim Strom-Gottfried joins Chancellor Folt’s cabinet

UNC Chancellor Carol Folt announced today that Dr. Kim Strom-Gottfried will serve as the director, ethics and policy management, effective Aug. 1. Strom-Gottfried is the Smith P. Theimann Jr. Distinguished Professor of Ethics and Professional Practice in the School of Social Work. She recently completed her 8 years as Academic Leadership Program Director at the Institute for the Arts and Humanities.

Former Chancellor Moeser to Serve as Acting Director of IAH, Mark Katz on Research Leave

James Moeser, chancellor emeritus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has been appointed acting director of the Institute for the Arts and Humanities for academic year 2016-17 while current IAH Director Mark Katz begins a research leave. The change takes effect July 1.

New grant from IAH links the arts and social justice

The Institute for the Arts and Humanities invites faculty artists to submit proposals for projects that incorporate themes of social justice. According to IAH Director Mark Katz, the initiative will award a total of $25,000 to create works that engage with issues of social justice.
