Dialogue for Change: Allyship in Action for Graduate and Professional Students

Dialogue for Change (DfC) is a 2-day intensive professional development program that takes participants through a concise Intergroup Dialogue (IGD) experience and provides them with concrete skills to create meaningful change in their communities. Participants will learn more about the tenets of IGD, engage in self-reflection, and develop their identity as a change-agent through interactive exercises.

The retreat for graduate and professional students will take place on Thursday, February 29, 2024 and Friday, March 1, 2024. Applications for the program are due Jan. 29, 2024.

Learning Goals: 

  • Develop greater self-awareness about one’s personal relationship to social identity and communication and conflict styles
  • Explore allyship and how to be a more supportive ally in professional and academic settings
  • Garner tools to help address challenging situations in the professional and academic worlds including microaggressions and incidents of bias
  • Enhance group dynamics and foster the development of a peer cohort comprised of social justice advocates.
  • Create an action plan for continued learning after the retreat
