Join us on November 6th for a talk and opening reception for a photo exhibit and murals related to Palestine at the Hanes Art Center.

3:00-4:30 pm in 121 Hanes Art Center. A conversation with Dr. Nadi Abu Saada

Nadi Abusaada is a Jerusalem-born architect and historian. He is currently a Visiting Professor at the School of Architecture and Design at the American University of Beirut (AUB). His work focuses on the material histories and visual cultures of the modern Arab world. He is the co-editor of the forthcoming books “Arab Modern: Architecture and the Project of Independence” (gta Verlag, 2024) and Resurgent Nahda: The Arab Exhibitions in Mandate Jerusalem (Kaph Books, 2024).

Sponsored by the departments of Art and Art History, Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, Communication, and Women and Gender Studies; the Curricula in Global Studies and in Peace War and Defense, the Center for Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies, the Institute for the Arts and Humanities, and Carolina Public Humanities.
