Ebony Johnson receives Employee Forum’s 2021 Pinnacle Award

June 16, 2021 | Tommie Watson

Congratulations to IAH Event Planner Ebony Johnson, who is the recipient of the UNC Employee Forum’s 2021 Pinnacle Award, granted to an employee who has demonstrated leadership, vision, and commitment to excellence, and is on a path of continuous learning through professional development. The award is part of the Peer Recognition Awards.

Nominator and IAH Executive Director Tommie Watson stated, “Ebony has done so much beyond the limits of her [IAH Event Planner] role. Ebony is the founder of Event Life, which is the event planners council on campus that provides guidance, direction and mentorship through professional development… her passion for making sure the unseen work is seen and supported is what makes her peer-leadership, mentorship, and professional development of the planner and outside vendor community so impactful. This has made Ebony better at her own job and made 250 UNC employees who serve in planning roles better across the campus. Ebony is one of the unsung heroes of this campus who has created so much opportunity and collaboration that celebrates other behind the scenes heroes.”

The award comes with a $100 stipend and an award ceremony conducted by the Employee Forum on June 9th.
