Misha Becker is a professor and the chair of the linguistics department. With a background in syntactic theory and the acquisition of syntax, Becker also studies bilingualism, language revitalization, Specific Language Impairment, computational modeling of language learning, and experimental methodologies for studying implicit linguistic knowledge.
Her recent book (co-written with Kamil Ud Deen), Language Acquisition and Development: A Generative Introduction (MIT Press), is a textbook on first language acquisition in children.
