Eunice Sahle has a joint appointment in the Department of African, African American, and Diaspora Studies (AAAD) and the Curriculum in Global Studies at UNC-CH and has previously served as Chair of AAAD (2012-2016 and 2017-2021). She is also a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences. Her publications include, but are not limited to, The Legacies of Julius Nyerere: Influences on Development Discourse and Practice in Africa (co-editor), 2002; World Orders, Development, and Transformation, 2010; Globalization and Socio-Cultural Processes in Contemporary Africa (editor), 2015; Democracy, Constitutionalism, and Politics in Africa: Historical Contexts, Developments, and Dilemmas, 2017; and Human Rights in Africa: Contemporary Debates and Struggles and Debates, 2019.

She is completing a book that examines dynamics of public power and human rights in Malawi and Kenya in recent decades and working on another project that explores the remaking of modalities of citizenship in contemporary Kenya.
