
Amarjit S. Budhiraja is a professor of Statistics and Operations Research in the College of Arts and Sciences. He served as the chair of the STOR department from 2014-2019.
His work primarily focuses on probability and stochastic analysis, including areas of large deviations, stochastic control, stochastic differential games, and nonlinear filtering. He is a fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. In 2019, Budhiraja co-authored a book with Paul Dupuis on the theory and applications of Large Deviations, Analysis and Approximation of Rare Events.
