
Al Perry, BA ’83
Growing up in Raleigh, NC, Al won and accepted the Morehead-Cain Scholarship which took him to UNC-Chapel Hill. He majored in political science and wrote his honors thesis on Jess Helms and his influence. He graduated after assuming numerous leadership roles on campus as well as with honors and Phi Beta Kappa. After spending a year working on Ken Spaulding’s congressional race in NC’s 2nd Congressional District, he studied at Yale Law School and graduated in 1987. After almost a decade working as a lawyer in New York City on complex real estate development and corporate matters, Al moved to Los Angeles where he worked as a lawyer at major movie studios and a tv network for nearly 25 years.
Al is the founder of Promethean Art Advisory and Artist Management, a group which provides advice to individuals on the acquisition and de-acquisition of art to build collections as well as provide managerial support to artists. He is currently on the board of the International Documentary Association and is an avid screenwriter, photographer, and traveler. Al resides in Los Angeles but maintains his roots in North Carolina.
