February 18, 2025 | Ruby Wang

National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Stipends. Application for Nomination by August 22, 2025.

The Institute for the Arts and Humanities is accepting applications for nomination for the NEH Summer Stipend program, due August 22, 2025, and can be submitted on Interfolio.

Faculty members teaching full-time at colleges and universities must be nominated by their institutions to apply for a summer stipend. The nomination process is noted below.

The National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Stipends aim to stimulate new research and publication in the humanities by:

  • providing small awards to individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both;
  • supporting projects at any stage of development, but especially early-stage research and late-stage writing in which small awards are most effective;
  • funding a wide range of individuals, including independent scholars, community college faculty, and non-teaching staff at universities.

Note: Prospective nominees should be advised about changes in Federal Funding Programs based off latest changes on federal policies and executive orders. To view updates on executive actions and federally sponsored research, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research has coordinated with the Office of Federal Affairs to review how research affects Carolina on this webpage. The NEH is also regularly updating a page on the NEH with information about executive orders.
