Call for Applications: Faculty Director, Strategic Initiatives

The Institute for the Arts and Humanities invites applications for the Faculty Director for Strategic Initiatives, a new position that will develop and advance new and existing IAH programmatic initiatives. Applications are due Friday, April 28, 2023.
The Faculty Director for Strategic Initiatives will support the IAH’s existing equity and inclusion initiatives — the Faculty of Color and Indigenous Faculty Group, the Race, Memory, and Reckoning Faculty Fellowships, and the Fixed-Term Faculty Focus Group — and help implement new initiatives in the Institute’s strategic plan, which identified key priorities including:
- Internationalization
- Equity and Inclusion
- Community Engagement and Partnerships
In support of these initiatives, the Faculty Director will be tasked with:
- Developing faculty programs to support international research collaborations
- Supporting community engagement and partnerships locally, nationally, and globally to advance public-facing arts and humanities programs
- Supporting leadership development for newly appointed chairs in the arts, humanities, and social sciences
The Faculty Director for Strategic Initiatives will coordinate the IAH strategic priorities implementation plan, in consultation with the IAH Director and with IAH staff support.
Term: The two-year term begins on July 1, 2023, with the possibility of renewal.
Compensation: The appointment includes an annual course release and a $5,000 flexible use research stipend.
Eligibility: Interested applicants must hold the rank of full professor and have experience designing new projects or programs, working with international partnerships, and collaborating with staff and strategic partners.
