Irisdaly Estevez joined the team at the Institute of Arts and Humanities in August 2013. Currently a Junior, she is on track for graduating in May of 2017 with a double major in Biology and Global Studies (Asian concentration; Global health theme), along with a Chinese minor. Her biggest dream is to become an infectious disease epidemiologist working for the Center of Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia.
As a work-study student, Estevez aids IAH staff members in external and internal events, along with general maintenance tasks. When not in classes, giving tours, or battling to perfect (still) her third tone in Mandarin Chinese, she can be spotted at either of her two most favorite spots at UNC – the second floor study room at Wilson Library, or at Hyde Hall’s Kitchen. Some of her most favorite pastimes include being surrounded by her family and learning about her Cuban heritage, as well as learning about other cultures across the globe.
