Call for Applications: 2014 NEH Summer Stipend
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS:
National Endowment for the Humanities
2014 Summer Stipend
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2013
NEH Summer Stipends support individuals working full-time on a humanities project at any stage of development by providing $6,000 for two consecutive months of full-time research and writing. Faculty members teaching full-time at colleges and universities must be nominated by their institutions to apply for a summer stipend. At UNC-Chapel Hill, the Institute for the Arts and Humanities’ Faculty Advisory Board serves as the nominations committee.
To be eligible for a summer stipend, applicants must turn in applications to the Institute for the Arts and Humanities, located in Hyde Hall, by Friday, September 6.
You will need to submit to the IAH the following:
- Three-page proposal narrative
- One-page bibliography
- Two-page C.V.
- The names of two letter writers (you will only need to solicit the letters if you are one of the candidates nominated to apply)
Information on these requirements is available at the NEH Summer Stipend website.
If you intend to apply, please contact Bryan Koen (843-5464, email@example.com) before bringing the completed application to Hyde Hall. Submit an original and four copies (five total) of the application by 4:30 p.m. on September 6. Read all application instructions carefully; only complete applications will be considered.
The Institute’s nomination committee will review all applications for UNC-Chapel Hill faculty and select two faculty nominees who will then apply directly to the NEH. The Institute will notify the two nominees in time for them to submit their applications online at www.grants.gov directly to the NEH prior to the September 26 deadline.
If you have further questions about the internal application process, contact Bryan Koen (843-5464, firstname.lastname@example.org) at the Institute for the Arts and Humanities. For questions about the Summer Stipend program, contact the NEH at email@example.com or visit the NEH website.
